Sweet pea

Oita is placed second place nationally for sweet pea production volumes. Locally produced sweet pea is mainly shipped to the Kanto and Kansai regions from mid-November every year, with producers constantly improving their cultivation techniques so that fresh, long-lasting flowers are delivered to consumers. Including those that bloom in summer, Oita cultivates an array of sweat pea varieties.
