Farmed bluefin tuna 

Farmed blackfin tuna of premium quality are raised in the offshore aquatic farms where the clear ocean currents of the Bungo Channel flow.

Through the employment of leading new technology such as artificial seedling production, the stable production of farmed blackfin tuna is realized in a world where wild tuna sources are exhausted.

The fresh, locally caught mackerels used in the tuna’s feed contribute to higher quality products. While the tuna raised in the prefecture’s north have a longer maturation period, their flesh boasts a finer fat distribution. The rich fattiness and umami are especially prominent in the toro (belly portion) of the tuna, while the leaner portions of the fish are also finely marbled with an excellent balance between umami and acidity that is second to none.
